The Door County Four

Last weekend Sarah and I went to Door County for a lovely romantic getaway. It was just the two of us. And her mom. And her mom's friend from Columbia. So it was an A+ on the getaway scale, but more of a low passing mark on the romantic scale. I of course forgot to bring a camera because I'm good like that. Fortunately, Marcia Hoke took plenty of pictures and assembled some to share. You'll find a selection of them below with insightful, endearing and considerate remarks added by yours truly.

Nice pictures. Funny comments. I like the cabin. Do you have any interior pictures?

No. Angela had a video camera and they taped the interior... so no actual photos. The website's pretty accurate though. There are pictures there: http://www.washingtonisland.com/timberridge/

Awesome. It looks nice.
Are you going back? I like it up there.
I sent the link for the blog to Tasha. Thought she might enjoy your comments.

Well if Tasha likes it and would like to go, maybe Tasha, mom, Jason and I could go!
The cottage does look cute -- indoor plumbing, right? I hope so (for the ladies' sake!).
I also enjoyed the comments. Too bad that bike wasn't a huffy.

Very nice. How was your ass feeling after the bike ride? I can find I can sit on a bike max for an hour before it hurts like hell.

I'm sure Jason has no problem with it though.

What is that comment supposed to mean??

The following conversation was overheard on the Washington Island ferry:

Tim: "If I asked you where the hell we were, would I regret it?"

Sarah: "We're safe."

Tim: "Oh good."

Sarah: "We're in a small cabin in one of the Washington Island fleet of ferries."

Tim: "Ah, this is obviously some strange use of the word safe that I wasn't previously aware of."

The following words were uttered as Tim and Sarah disembarked from the ferry:

Tim: "I don't think we're in Dane County anymore Sarah."

Sarah: "Close you eyes and tap your heels together three times. And think to yourself, there's no place like home."

Do I really need to spell this joke out?

It means Jason doesn't have a problem having things shoved in his ass.

Well, that thought occurred to me but I didn't think you would be so harsh on him. You better watch it. Katie doesn't have that wedding band on her finger yet. I'll be pissed if you drive him away with your tasteless remarks!

I almost forgot, the correct caption for Photo 8 should be:

"In Door County, spirits were brave, the stakes were high, men were REAL men, women were REAL women, and small furry creatures (Capra aegagrus hircus) from southwest Asia and Eastern Europe were REALLY small furry goats."
