Plastic Menagerie

This weekend, Sarah and I finally made it to the Brookfield Zoo outside of Chicago. It is one of the largest zoos in the country. We of course went for the animals, particularly the injection molded kind. Tennessee Williams be damned, I wanted a plastic menagerie.

We learned several important lessons during our visit to the zoo.

  • There is nothing on this great, green earth that stinks more that bat sh*t.
  • You can buy a bottle of soda for the low, low price of Canada’s gross domestic product.
  • Stingrays have a thing for blondes.
  • Children should not be encouraged to howl like a wolf.
  • Rhinos blast urine to mark territory; hippos stake a bolder claim.

Enjoy 20 photos of several creatures great and small.

Very nice job Tim. All the captions were great, but I especially liked the quote from Monty Python regarding the ex-parrot. Did you buy the entire plastic menagerie there, or are there some relics from past trips to the Vilas zoo? I may have to take a trip there someday, but not today.

I liked your "lessons" learned...except I don't get what hippos do??
I was glad to see your plastic menagerie for one reason...it shows a little bit of your new table, which I have yet to see in person.

I like,

1. First presidential debate
2. All the tigers one
3. The cheetah reminds me of Molly - snotty and refuses to look at you.

Very nicely done. Oliver would be proud at the caliber of your post. Let me guess, you're buying all the plastic toys for Oliver!?!

All News from WI bloggers-
I think it's time for each of us to man/woman up with a photo or other visual representation of how he or she would like to be perceived by others on the blog. As far as I can tell, it's only Poppy, Molly, Timmy and Oliver (oh my) who currently do so. Don't make me do it for you!
And by the way, didn't you always want a monkey?
